The Taos County Chamber of Commerce
hosted a Taos Municipal School Board Candidates Forum, Jan. 13, 2009, at Bataan Hall on Civic Plaza Drive.

As the CEO of the TCCC a big part of my job is to help our business community deal with the many challenges they face in the quest for prosperity. The number one concern most often expressed by business owners and managers is our workforce --- one that is often unprepared to enter the job market.

As the job of our school board is to develop the policy that governs how our children are taught, it is imperative for the business community to participate in their selection.

To that end, the purpose of the Forum is to help our community chose School Board leadership that will best help meet the challenges necessary to enable our children to successfully prepare to enter the job market or continue their education upon graduation.
